Having a degree in sculpture, and having spent hours of life drawing and sculpting, Jill Neal wants to use her formal training to emphasize the female form, exaggerating the feminine with the use of shape, color and body language, capturing the spirit and humor of women, from a woman’s perspective. Jill starts with more realistic sketches, then concentrates on the roundness and sculptural composition of form, that relates to the activity and movement she wants to portray. She then transfers this to watercolor paper-the quicker and looser she makes the sketch, the more personality emerges.
